A little ‘About Me’:

DSC00039    <~~ That’s me. I write books. You can find out more about them by heading to the My Books page.

I have an amazing husband who is extremely supportive of what I do and has never once complained about my frequent (and incredibly long) solitary trips to Writer Land.

That’s all you get of Husband. ~~>DSC08625 - Copy (2)

IMG_20121118_012745<~~ The cold months in Writer Land.

I love Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, video games, and some other things. (List of loves not necessarily in that order.)

I have a Weimaraner that believes she’s a lap dog, and a fluffy cat that gets accented voice-overs periodically throughout the day.

I hate attempting to explain myself – or anything else, for that matter – in a few sentences. See (almost) any blog entry for reference.

The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences and thoughts, while also connecting with other people.  Feel free to share along.

  1. Hi, I actually work the night shift at a college library (part-time…see me reaching for the stars?) Anyway, I’ve read quite a bit of YA fiction the past few years and some of it is quite incredible. Very impressed you have written books (plural) and I’m looking forward to hearing about your journey to publishing…rage against the mediocre!

    • I will refrain from the urge to make a Toy Story reference here. Well…I kind of did anyway, didn’t I? If I didn’t write books, I would love to work in a library (nothing wrong with part-time).

Some of it really is quite incredible. Usually, even if it’s not INCREDIBLE, it’s a pretty fun read.

Thanks for the support. And I’m looking SO forward to reading more of your blogs. I had a good time telling my husband about Point Break. XD

  2. Good luck with the novel series! There’s nothing like a supportive partner for those times when we need to shut out the rest of the world and just get some writing done.

    • Thank you so much!
You’re definitely right about that. I don’t know how he deals with it, but he always says, “It’s what you love.”
I’m so grateful to have someone that understands my NEED to write, rather than holding my lack of free time against me.

    • Ah, the boat. So many of us are currently in that boat.
You’re absolutely right – sometimes it really does feel like it’s not going anywhere (WHERE ARE THE PADDLES?!). It’s such a long waiting game (waiting for this, waiting for that), but as long as you’re working towards an immediate goal to reach the long-term goals . . . it’ll work out.
All the best to you as well!

    • Thanks!
I will get to them AS SOON as I force myself to take more than a little bit of time off.
I’m feeling a little (or more than a little) swamped at the moment. All my fault, of course. I’m just having a major issue trying to tear myself away from my new WIP.

I really appreciate you throwing all those my way. I have an awesome way of showing it, I know.
I’m waving the shame fan in my own face for it. You can join in, to double the shame.

  5. Congrats! We’ve selected you as a “Versatile Award Winner.” Pop over to our site and click on the post of the same name for details.

    Thanks
    Shaun

PS: IF YOU DON’T DO AWARDS!
COULD YOU PLEASE PASS IT ON TO A FRIEND WHO WILL ACCEPT
    Thank you!!

    • I swear, Shaun, I really am going to get to these.
I have a pile of them that I need to do, but I swear I’m going to!
It’s past my bedtime already today (my internet wasn’t working earlier when I came in from writing, doesn’t that figure?)
But I’m going to start knocking them out here soon.

Thanks for thinking about me. 😀

      • IDEA HERE!!
Do them ALL in one blog…
        Host all the pictures/blogs…
        Rules:
Say 10 things about yourself, pick 2 awards and add 20/30 people who can pick 2 awards..

That sound doable? Many people do this..

        Let me know.. x

      • I was thinking about just taking an extremely long time (as if I haven’t already) and going through all of them to give out to all my followers.
Your idea seems WAY more manageable! 😛

  7. Hey there sweet friend. Thank you for following my blog. I love your cute personality. I can imagine you will have 1,000s in no time! Keep up the good work. I am glad to be introduced to your blog! Have a super weekend!

    • Your comment absolutely made my day. 😀
Thank YOU for following my blog! But the 1,000’s thing nearly made my eye twitch, haha.

I hope you have a super weekend as well. 🙂

  8. I love that your cat gets accented voice-overs! I am so going to do that when I eventually get a cat! 🙂 I’m also going to call it Katniss. 🙂

    • Haha She usually says something very mean and cat-like. It’s a lot of fun, to be honest, and it makes up sometimes for the fact that I’m a dog person. I still love her though, no matter how hateful she is. But that might be because I’m the only human she loves…
And I think that would be a fanTASTIC name for a cat! 😀

  9. I’m a dog person too but I work in the city and live alone so there’d be no one to walk a dog. 😦 At the moment my landlady won’t even let me have a cat but hopefully I’ll figure something out someday! It’s a great cat name isn’t it? 🙂

    • Cats are so low-maintenance (in comparison), so that’s one good thing about them. I’m sad that you can’t even have a pet to take away from the loneliness. 😦

I hope you do figure something out.
      And super awesome name!
It might be really lame of me, but would it be funny if you ever got it catnip? Because I’m thinking it would be funny. Then again…I’m way too easily amused.
      >.>

  10. Thanks for the follow! I just looked up your book Reave, and I’m very much looking forward to reading it! Also I would like to note that I am also a Doctor Who fan haha. Happy writing!

    • AHHH I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!
I’m still putting off watching the Christmas special because I don’t feel like crying for an entire day about Matt Smith, haha.

I hope you enjoy the book if you get around to it! 🙂
And happy writing to you as well!

  11. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog — I’m quite happy to’ve found yours. 🙂 Your pets are adorable, and I’m excited to hear more about your writing!

    • I still have a book I need to finish reading for a review swap (SCREENS! GAH!). I really am extremely busy (aren’t we all? >.<) and currently trying to figure out when/how to fit more (any) reading back into my schedule. It's difficult with attempting to get edits finished and also attempting to figure out what in the world I'm doing after releasing the first book. I really don't have a clue right now (about what I'm doing or how to do it).

I DEFINITELY wouldn't ask you to send me a paperback copy. I'd buy it myself, for sure, but I'm buh-roke. So, if you don't mind waiting a while, I'll just buy it in paperback myself when I'm able?
I wrote it down on my list of books to buy. 🙂
(But I should warn you, I am GARBAGE at trying to write reviews.)

  12. Hi, Nice to meet you you really got awesome writing skills. I would say it would be great if you would write a single post for my website. I would too love to take your interview.

    • Okay, firstly I have to apologize for the length of time it took me to respond! I’ve been really bad at keeping up with blog/Twitter/etc. while trying to get this next book ready for release. Sorry!

Is it super weird to ask how you found me? Like . . . is your website wordpress hosted? I’m just curious!

To answer your question, I’ll have to ask a question. What sort of post are you asking about? Most of your content seems to be technology based, and that’s PRETTY far out of my element.

Sorry again about the length of time. I really need to get better with being on here.

  13. Thats fine everyone is busy these days with the crisis of their daily lives. Actually its not weird cause i found your blog while surfing some other websites. Though yes my website is self hosted but is powered by wordpress.
A one post about lifestyle, health, entertainment or it can be some of your tips about penning anything. 🙂

    • Yeah, I’ve been super busy trying to get things ready for the next release while working on multiple other books simultaneously. There’s a lot going on right now!

Hm. I’m trying to think of something, but my brain is pretty frazzled at the moment. I’ve never done a guest blog post, so I’m pretty clueless about it! O.o

    • No problem! 🙂
Is that what we Merlin fans are called? If not, everyone SHOULD call us that. It’s my favorite show, so it’s nice to find someone else who enjoys it. 🙂

  14. To be honest, I don’t know what Merlin fans are called but you have to admit it has a nice sound to it. Wait! You already did, what am I talking about? I didn’t know there were Merlin fans in US too. Loved the show to bits while it was on. Still do. I think I should watch it from beginning again.
